Glee Audition Contest Rules
 

Who Can Enter

1.  To be eligible to participate in this contest, entrants must be U.S. or Wisconsin resident who are 16 years old or older as of the national submission deadline of April 26, 2010 and reside in the WMSN viewing area.

2.  Employees of Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Company, Inc., and any other company which owns, programs, or provides other services to television station WMSN (the “Station”), HuHot, Steinhafel Furniture, Fox Broadcasting Company, News Corporation, Fox Digital Media, Twentieth Century Fox Television, MySpace, Inc., GLEE show sponsors, their parent, subsidiary, affiliated and related entities, and the officers, directors, employees, licensees and assignees of each, advertising and promotion agencies, any and all local television broadcast and cable stations, local radio and other media companies, and the immediate family members of each are ineligible.  The term “immediate families” includes spouses, grandparents, parents, siblings, children and grandchildren. The cast call is for amateurs only.  Members of SAG or AFTRA are not eligible.

How to Enter

      (a)      No purchase is necessary to enter.  Only one entry per contestant.

      (b)  Qualified entrants may audition in person by going to HoHut located at 610 Junction Rd Madison, WI on April 11, 12 or  13, 2010 1:00pm to 6:00pm. Contestants will be required to complete an official entry/release form, and show photo I.D. with proof of age. If contestant is under 18, a parent or legal guardian must sign and fill out the entry form. Each contestant will sing 60 seconds of a song acapella from the list of public domain songs on www.fox47.com and introduce themselves. The audition will be videotaped by HuHot representatives. Alternatively, contestants over the age of 18 may log onto www.fox47.com and upload a video and audio recording of themselves performing a song acapella from the list of public domain songs and introducing themselves for 60 seconds between April 8, 2010, and April 13, 2010. Online entrants must fill out an online entry/release form and send it. No mechanically reproduced or completed entries will be accepted. The Station is not responsible for lost, late, or misdirected entries,  printing errors, server unavailability, computer or any other electronic malfunction.  Videos uploaded must be in .avi, .dv, .mov, .qt, .mp4, .mpeg, .3gp, .asf, .wmv, .mpg format. Maximum file size = 200 MB.   By entering online, entrants agree that the video is their own work and does not violate the rights of any third parties.

      (c)  Entrants cannot use copyrighted music in the video. In addition, the video may not contain any lewd acts, nudity or profanity of any kind, and will result in disqualification in the Station’s sole and absolute discretion.

      (d)  All valid entries will be judged by a panel of four (4) judges based on voice (25%), appearance (25%), song choice (25%), and personality (25%). On April 14, 2010 forty seven (47) semi-finalists will be selected by the judges  and contacted by phone.  Semi-finalists must audition for the judges at HuHot on April 15, 2010 6pm, by singing one of the songs selected from the show Glee and introducing themselves for 60 seconds. If a semi-finalist is contacted, and does not appear on April 15, 2010 at HuHot, their audition opportunity is forfeited, no other opportunity will be provided, and no alternates will be selected.

      (e)  On April 15, 2010 two (2) finalists will be selected by a panel of four judges tallying their scores of individual singers. Judging will be based on the following criteria: voice (25%), appearance (25%), song choice (25%), and personality (25%). Decisions of judges are final. In the event of a tie in scores, the contestants with the same highest scores will perform the same song again in front of the judges. The judges will announce the finalist right after the tie-breaking performances.

(f) On April 15, 2010 the two (2) finalists selected by the judges will make a statement one minute or less introducing themselves, describing why they want to be on the show Glee. Then they must perform one of the songs from the approved list in total. This audition is one take, live to tape, and must follow the video submission guidelines on myspace.com/gleeauditions. The audience at HuHot will choose one of the finalists, and text their vote. Standard text messaging rates apply to all text message entries sent. Station not responsible for any server unavailability, electronic malfunction, misdirected text messages, or if text message is not received. Instructions for keyword and short code will be provided at that time. The finalist with the most text votes within five (5) minutes after both finalists have performed will be deemed the winner.

      (g)  All entries received (including videotape) that are duplicate, mutilated, tampered with, illegible, or from ineligible entrants will be void.  All entries become the property of Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc., HuHot and the Station and will not be acknowledged or returned.

The Prize(s)

1.  Each of the two (2) finalists will receive a gift certificate to Steinhafel Furniture valued at $100.  One (1) winner will be selected. The winner will receive a “Gold Star Pass” which is a guaranteed audition for the winner’s videotaped audition to be viewed by a GLEE Casting Producer.  The audition is subject to Glee’s audition rules located at  myspace.com/gleeauditions. Winner will not receive preferential treatment for callbacks. In the event production of the GLEE Casting Call is cancelled or postponed, related prizing may be cancelled without substitution or compensation therefore. Audition opportunities are non-transferable and cannot be sold to or used by any person(s) other than the winner. The winner of this contest cannot participate in the MySpace Glee audition. The value of the prize cannot be determined.

2.  The grand prize winner will be notified in person on April 15, 2010. Grand prize winner must sign and return a release and affidavit of eligibility, which must be received within 2 days of notification.  If the grand prize winner is a minor, then the winner’s parents or guardian must sign a release and affidavit of eligibility before the winner receives his or her prize.  Winners must show picture identification to claim prizes. The Station reserves the right to examine additional identification and may choose to accept or deny awarding the prize based on the identification presented. Winner may be required to sign additional documents as determined by the Glee producers.

3.  If the winner does not timely return the affidavit of eligibility, the prize will be awarded to an alternate winner. The alternate winner is the contestant with the second highest score as determined by text vote. 

4.  There will be no substitutions or cash alternatives for prizes except at the sole discretion of The Station. The Station has the right to substitute a prize of similar value.  No transfer or assignment of prizes is allowed.

5.  The winners are responsible for paying all local, county, state and federal taxes on prizes based on the estimated retail value of the prizes as set forth in these rules. 

6.  Only one prize will be awarded per household.

7.  Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc., and Sinclair Television Company Inc. are not liable if the provider of any part of the prize fails to satisfy its obligations to furnish its portion of the prize. 

8.  Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc., and Sinclair Television Company Inc. Fox Broadcasting Company, News Corporation, Fox Digital Media, Twentieth Century Fox Television, MySpace, Inc., GLEE show sponsors, their parent, subsidiary, affiliated and related entities, and the officers, directors, employees, licensees and assignees of each, their parent, subsidiary, affiliated and related entities, and the officers, directors, employees, licensees and assignees of each are not responsible for any liabilities arising directly or indirectly from the award or use of the prize.

9.  In claiming your prize, you acknowledge that the Station has the right to publicize your name, character, likeness, photograph, voice and the fact that you are the winner for promotional purposes without financial remuneration.

Odds of Winning/Miscellaneous

1.  Odds of winning depend on judges decision, all decisions are final.

2.  Complete contest rules and entry and release forms are available Monday through Friday during normal business hours at WMSN 7847 Big Sky Drive Madison WI 53719 or www.fox47.com.

3.  For a list of prize winners, send a separate, self-addressed, stamped envelope to WMSN 7847 Big Sky Drive Madison WI 53719  by  April 22, 2010.

4.  This contest is subject to all applicable laws and regulations and is void where prohibited.  Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Company Inc., HuHot, Fox Broadcasting Company, News Corporation, Fox Digital Media, Twentieth Century Fox Television, MySpace, Inc., GLEE show sponsors, their parent, subsidiary, affiliated and related entities, and the officers, directors, employees, licensees and assignees of each their parent, subsidiary, affiliated and related entities, and the officers, directors, employees, licensees and assignees of each, accept no responsibility or liability in connection with any injuries, losses or damages of any kind caused by or resulting from the acceptance, possession or use of any prize awarded hereunder.

5.  Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc., and Sinclair Television Company Inc., cannot be held liable for any lost or stolen entries, prizes or contest information.

6.Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc., and Sinclair Television Company Inc., reserves the right to make rules and contest changes and change the aforementioned contest dates.

7. Mobile service provider may charge for each text message vote sent and received according to its standard text messaging rates. Voters should check phone capabilities for specific text messaging instructions and consult with mobile service provider regarding pricing plans.  Voters must have a mobile service subscriber with text messaging service, using a participating service provider in order to enter via this method. Not all mobile phone providers carry the necessary service to participate.
